Still Holding Out…

Tonight the San Francisco 49ers will face their Bay Area rivals, the Oakland Raiders, in a game that should have showcased Michael Crabtree’s ability to the team that passed him up for Darrius Heyward Bey. Instead, Crabtree is still sitting at home waiting for a new contract to come that will pay him more money than the No. 7 pick. It’s a fax that may never come.

There are only two first round picks left unsigned, Michael Crabtree and Cincinnati’s Andre Smith. At this point, we’ll assume that Smith will be in camp next week leaving Crabtree the lone holdout heading into the final preseason games and ultimately the regular season.

I still think that Crabtree is bluffing when he says that he’ll sit out the entire 2009 season. He is just waiting till the last possible moment to sign. He wants to scare the 49ers into giving in.

I hope he sits out for the season and enters and he gets picked up at a lower ranking than he got this year and is paid even less money. One thing about football players is that there is always someone greater. Keep up the good work Crabtree, all of the owners are definately keeping you on their radar.

Rookie RB Glen Coffee has made SF forget about Crabtree. The offensive line is line is huge and SF will be running the ball. Given that Qb’s Hill and Smith are middle tier QB’s the need for a WR like Crabtree diminishes daily. At this point in time the earliest Crabtree could become a daily player would be after San Francisco week 6, when SF has it’s Bye. so how does Crabtree justify a big contract for less than 2/3 of a season of work now?

I don’t think the need for a WR with Crabtree’s potential ever diminishes, but the opinion of his character certainly is diminishing.

This is dissapointing, especially being a Tech fan, but if he sits this out over greed I will certainly lose respect for a guy who put a smile on my face many times.

Earn your money Crabtree…don’t be a part of the ever-growing community of people who expect things to be given to them. Get your god-given, talented butt on the field and show your stuff!

I wish he would stop holding out and just play ball. If he wants big money sign he needs to sign a short term deal and show off his talent on the field. If he plays as well as he says he can they will give him whatever money he wants.

SHAME on CRABTREE…

He’ll be a cowboy in 5 years.

He’ll give us #2 numbers (40-600-5) for 5 years then he’ll be a cowboy and probably explode.

We just need mor players like Glen Coffee who is thrilled to be a niner and would play hard for the niners, rather than players like Crabtree.

We need to sign him then trade him for a 1st to the cowgirls.

Crabtree is only hurting himself nobody eles. The 49ers have all the leverage in the world if he sits out the season he wont get drafted till the second round next year if hes lucky. And in the mock draft hell be a second round pick too. So if he wants to make even less money hell be an idiot and sit out the season. Also, with our running game and defense this year we won’t need a guy who only cares about the money and not the team. We don’t need selfish guys like that on our team.

YOUR ACTING LIKE T.O EXCEPT T.O HAS PLAYED IN THE NFL.SIGN THE DOTTED LINE AND PLAY BALL HOMIE.

I hope he does hold out, although I doubt he will. I don’t know why he doesn’t just sign.

I’ll kick your ass Crabgrass. I’ve never lost a fight.

Mike, You’re too busy thinking about the money. Don’t you realize all the street cred you’ll get by being on The Joe Show on a regular basis ?!?! Money isn’t everything Super Crabs. Wake up! JOE SHOW!!!…JOE SHOW!!!

p.s.: Oh yeah, that diva thing in Cleveland with Mangini and the Browns was all a misunderstanding. RIIIIGHT!

Hey Crabs, that genius cousin of yours is only helping you look like a major chump. You need to dump him ASAP but you won’t because blood is thicker than water and you’re stupid. As a 9er fan for 27 years I can only hope at this point, you do hold out the entire season and re-enter the draft and get signed by another team shortsighted and desperate enough to draft you. It’ll be a match made in heaven. At this point, I’ll be disappointed to see you in a 9ers’ uniform. Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Dwight Clark, Terrell Owens you ain’t-not even close. Yeah we’re out a #1 draft pick but we’ll save bundles in money and headaches down the road not having to deal with you. Does the NFL really need another Diva? Not really. Harsh? Yeah….truth bro.

This if free market capitalism at its best. The Niners will pay Crabtree what they are willing to pay. Crabtree will either take it or he won’t.

Now, IMO, the Niners have offered their maximum offer. Crabtree won’t take it. He’ll sit out the 2009 season and reenter the 2010 draft. Next year, he will be drafted lower and be offered even less money. At that point, he’ll have to figure out if he’s going to play in the NFL.

This is a bad situation for Crabtree. It’s bad for the Niners too, but they’re not going to be bankrupt over his decision… he will.

Well Crabby Patty, I sincerely hope you sit out get signed by the cowgirls in the second round next year and have a career ending injuring while earning less than 300k and het to watch Bey score TDs over his long career. Your mother should place you across your legs and beat the brakes off your ass. And lastly tell your ignorant ass cousin to keep his moyuth shout b/c i will f him up if i see his punk ass, and tell him to stop sucking your balls.

The end

Really Dude how do you think we are going to greet you when you come and play ,, Diva already man
learn from the stud of the team the best player on the team # 52 ……. he is the man always will be the man you have a long way to go homeboy

Crabtree the 49ers need you, all they have dose is draft you when nine other teams did not, they put up a deal that is fair why are you doing this. Anyway people work hard to see there NFL teams to us going to a game is a set back, right now you are a joke.

MICHAEL, MICHAEL, MICHAEL. THE MOTTO OF 49ER FAITHFUL IS DON’T TELL ME SHOW ME! YOU HAVE SHOWN ME THAT MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN PLAYING A SPORT THAT ALLOWS YOU TO MAKE MORE MONEY THAN MOST PEOPLE THAT WATCH AND ROOT FOR YOU WILL SEE IN A LIFETIME LET ALONE IN A 5 YEAR SPAN. TAKE THE 5 YEAR 20 MILLION & 16.5 GUARANTEE & THEN MAKE MORE WHEN YOU ARE A FREE AGENT!! SHOW THE NFL THAT YOU ARE A TOP 3 PICK. PUT UP #”S THEN YOU”LL MAKE THE $$$. IF NOT SEE YOU IN THE SECOND OR THIRD ROUND TO MAKE LESS MONEY!

You’re being played by your agent, so he get’s more money, and you look like a fool. If you’re worth the bucks-you’ll get the bucks. Sign a short term deal with plenty of incentives and get out there and play your ass off.

What a MORON! You’re offered enough money to become instantly rich, and you hold out b/c you think you were drafted too low? Get on the field and prove your worth, rook! You, Michael Crabtree, are the epitome of everything that’s wrong in sports. Prima Donna crybabies who think they are entitled to something. You’ve done NOTHING for the 49er’s yet… they don’t owe you a damn thing. I hope you DO sit out the entire season. I hope you DO enter the draft next season and go late in the 4th round…. enjoy that minimum NFL salary you’ll get from that.

Greed will get you nowhere, and it seems that’s where you are destined to go. I hope that you never wear an NFL uniform in your life, you greedy piece of crap.

Am I the only person here having T.O. flashbacks. Michael C. is a whiny little rookie, who can’t accept his draft position, just like T.O. couldn’t/still can’t accept the fact that he really isn’t the greatest receiver of all time. Even if he does accept what the team is offering him, I’ll be very disappointed if this clown ends up in 49er uniform this season. Good riddance to you, Crabtree. You’re an idiot.

Crabtree, I enjoyed watching you at T Tech. I thought you were a man among boys. I can’t understand why you don’t just get it going now. If you sit out, you will lose all of this years money, plus endorsements, and good will. look at all the bad press you are getting. Plus, there is no guarantee you will be drafted higher than 10 next year after a year off from football and having shown a very disagreeable attitude. There are a lot of college players who get gilted in the draft. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick. He did his work, showed his stuff, and now he’s among the highest paid in the league. Just get out there and show it and you’ll get paid. I don’t even like the niners, I just want to see good talent play.

Don’t give him shit, you could have picked up a few free agents for half the amount of money that he wants who have been tested and knows what it takes to be a NFL player. Let him go back to College and be broke.

Being a top pick does not always translate to top talent. Brady 6th pick, T. Davis 6th Pick Ryan Leaf No 1 pick. Damarcius Russell a multi-million dollar interception machine and the list goes on.

Crabtree reminds me of Maurice Clarett. All talent no brains.

Crabtree has lost his leverage, SF should trade him gto an East Coast AFC team (Ravens, etcs) for a fourth round pick ala Randy Moss and then let him see what happens to the pay check!

what an idiot!!! hurrah for the 49er’s for not giving in to this punk!!! he’s done nothing but excel in a weak college division and that was in large part to the system he was in… and now he wants #7 money after being drafted #10… i would suggest you change your corner men to someone that lives in the real world and not on some fantasy island… sanders and wells are gonna screw your life up… get some REAL, SERIOUS people in your corner, not a posse… they leave you in the dust the first time you shoot yourself in the leg at the strip club… lmao…
